CHERI Morello board

DSbD Remote Lab

Gain access to a Morello board remotely and test solutions on externally proven hardware/software

How does it work?

Our approach offers scalable and secure workflows. The use of containers ensures a reproducible, clean environment for every test run, reducing the risk of system compromise and enabling teams to scale according to their testing needs. Better yet, because our scripts are open-source, the DSbD community can contribute to and build container repositories—offering off-the-shelf images for CI/CD pipelines to accelerate workflows for all developers. This collaborative approach, coupled with our streamlined platform, allows teams to move from onboarding to fixing real-world bugs in a matter of hours.

Looking ahead

Looking ahead, we are expanding the lab to support even more concurrent users by improving multithreading on CheriBSD. Together, these capabilities provide developers with an essential tool for catching unsafe code earlier in the software development lifecycle, creating more resilient applications. Faster, more secure, and accessible to all—the future of CHERI technology is here, and it’s ready for your team.

FAQ

Are there any restrictions on use?

Due to export controls on computers, including access to virtual machines, we can only onboard users based in the UK with our own infrastructure. Our code is open-source anyway, so international users can readily deploy the VMs in their own cloud infrastructure.

Who will benefit most from this solution?

Cloud CHERI-based virtual machines have a wide variety of uses:

  • SMEs demonstrating application code to clients,
  • Industrial hardware operators backporting fixes,
  • University staff and educators conducting research,
  • Security researchers investigating vulnerabilities.
